Kim and her daughters had their first annual Mother/Daughter trip. Where better than in wine country in eastern Washington! We visited a number of wineries including lunch and dinner a couple of days. We played Yahtzee, had a dance party in the RV and just spent some much needed time together. I haven’t laughed so hard in a very long time. I love my girls so much!
While Kim was spending the weekend with her daughters in Prosser, WA, David took off on the motorcycle for a ride with some friends. He met up with them in Lewiston, ID and then rode to Orofino, ID. The following day they rode over Lolo Pass, spent the night in Lolo, MT and then headed to Kalispell, MT where they had a log cabin booked. They then headed for Glacier National Park and rode the road to the sun up to Logan Pass. Some good times with friends, great riding (except for 9 miles of gravel road), beautiful scenery, and another flat penny added to the collection.
We spent 10 days in Conconully, WA with our good friends Kevin, Kim, Rick, and Tangy in June of 2023. It’s a nice State Park located between two lakes with only two sites in the park that we were able to fit our RV in.
Kim turned out to be a better angler than David. David – 0, Kim – 3 on our first trip. Then Kim went out again and caught five more.
We took a trip in the Smart car up to Omak Lake looking for the balancing rock. The road to the elusive rock turned out to be restricted to tribal members and gravel so we chose not to test the car out on it. The lake was beautiful even though the smoke from the Canadian fires was thick that day.
David went golfing three times with our friend Kim at the Omak Golf Course. It was a nice 9 hole course with different tee boxes for the back nine.
We took a ride down to Chelan Falls to see our Granddaughter Jolie and of course we saw Jenna, Evan, and Evan’s parents Ryan and Marcy. We had a great time visiting everyone and had a great boat ride on the river. Jolie got to sit on a Harley for the first time, she’s not quite ready for a ride yet.
We took the motorcycle for a ride to the town of Winthrop, WA. It’s a tiny old western town with antique boardwalks and lots of shops. David got another flat penny for his collection.
The only sad part of the trip. The bird ducked when he should have weaved.
We flew to Tulsa and then drove up to Kansas to pick up the truck. We ended up getting a minivan for a rental (Kim finally got be a true soccer Mom) and then stayed at a AirBNB in Kansas. The folks that owned the AirBNB took us out to dinner at a true Kansas buffet (would we go back, probably not). On the way to dinner, they suddenly had to go to an appointment, so they loaned us their truck and we took it out to see Big Brutus. What generous people they were!
We got the orientation training on the truck completed in Dennis, KS at RVH Lifestyles and then headed to Elkhart, IN to pick up the RV. We stopped for the night in Kansas City, MO, saw the arch and stayed in the sleeper of the truck in a Casino parking lot (it was a little shady, not recommended for future stays). We spent 5 days at the RV factory and then headed back to RVH Lifestyles to get the cameras wired between the truck and RV. We then started our trip back to Washington with overnight stays in Elk City, OK, Heber, AZ, Phoenix, AZ (got to see Kim’s family), Las Vegas, NV, Jackpot, NV, Caldwell, ID (got to see David’s family), and Prosser, WA. We stayed a couple nights at the Brownsville Marina to move our stuff from the Boat to the RV and then headed to Poulsbo, WA where we are staying until David retires in 2023.
